Lot’s happening, lots of good changes and strong development. Photos attached are from the past 30 days.
FYI - We are now working with 5-6 therapists and a physical medicine doctor. What I do is keep everyone in the loop with photos, comments, therapy techniques to keep everything moving forward in a coordinated, well managed effort to achieve the same goals, step by step, day by day. When Matt is out of the therapist immediate treatment, Lisa continues the same rigorous treatments and therapies. We have alot of equipment at home that we have built, purchased, rigged and modified with the help and advise of all the therapist involved. Matt is doing things now that we were trying to get the insurance to offer in the beginning but that never happened. What we do now is all out of pocket but very necessary. With all the patients and families we’ve met over the coarse of the past 27 months, the ones most successful are the ones that never give up hope and work hard to find ways to make this happen.
I feel sorry for the injured people that don’t have advocates on their behalf and let an insurance company simply write them off and warehouse them like so many that you see in so called “managed care facilities” or “nursing homes”. I do believe that’s sadly what happens to the majority in this country.

I’m so happy to hear about Matt’s progress. Hope he is able to continue to receive speech therapy. You are right about the need for advocacy. You and Lisa are doing an inspirational job at this.

It is so wonderful to catch up on the progress that you and Matt have made this year! I hope to be able to see you this summer. I will be in CA from July 12-29; Dave only for a week of that. I am in awe over what you do! God’s blessings!
