Well, Matt’s been a noticeably changing for the better. He’s become very active, much more aware of his surroundings. He’s tracking much more noticeably, much more responsive, all good stuff. No drugs. They all seemed to have really masked alot of his awareness. I’m getting him to shake his head no now but he really works at thinking about moving his head back and forth to do that when asked. He’ll get it, you can see him working at it. The other thing has been his verbalization. We really work with him asking him to say what he is doing a task. He’s trying that, not all the time but he just starts vocalizing like he’s working with the sounds of his voice. Physically all the therapist have noticed the change and all comment on his attentiveness, awareness and activity. We have Janet and Leslie who come out to work with Matt three days a week. This gives Lisa a much needed break a couple hours a few days a week. We have also been lucky enough to get Marium to commit to working with Matt 1 session a week for speech therapy. Marium is Waleed’s very talented sister. We are still working out the scheduling for that but hopefully that will start in the next couple of weeks.
I would also like to offer our condolences to the Cupples family for their loss of Ryan Cupples and also to the Rowan family for the loss of their son and brother, Aaron Rowan. So much tragic loss of young life in the community of Ramona. I grew up in Los Angeles and with all that population over all the years I was there, never experienced the tragedy of so many people so near and dear.
